"Negative Factors" - added 29-sept-2002

This is Kamchatka's look into what happened during episodes 19 & 20. It switches POV between Heero and Duo, and reveals their inner thoughts as events unfold.

I really enjoyed this because, while Duo is a joker, it isn't taken to extremes - there's no idiotic antics, and he's shown as thoughtful and mature. Heero likewise is a serious boy, but he's not sullen and silent. He's realizing that there might have been some holes in his training as a soldier, and he isn't afraid to explore those holes.

This is strictly a friendship fic, which I find very refreshing. It's really nice to just see them as friends - there's no romance in here, no mooning, sullen, love-lorn pilots, broken hearts, etc. Just two lonely boys who find something in each other that could lead to a very strong, long-lasting friendship.

"Another Version of Events" - added 16-sept-2001 30-aug-2004

This and Karan's "Revelations" Arc are my all-time favorites.  This one is a Heero/Duo get together fic.  After the war, Heero disappears for a while to "sort things out", while Duo enrolls in school with Relena to complete his education, while also working for Preventers and running his own business.  After a while, Heero realizes that he desperately needs Duo, and searches him out.  Unfortunately, Heero's "weirdly socialized" (Seraph's terms) and doesn't quite know how to go about winning Duo.  With the help of some well-meaning friends, they set out to teach him what to do.  Because he knows next to nothing about sex, Heero has decided to train himself on what to do before he will attempt anything with Duo.  

Hot?  Indescribably so, and unbelievably kinky, but so, so tastefully done.  I have NEVER read sex scenes like this before - Seraph's imagination, along with her skill in writing and attention to detail makes this fic come alive.  And I kid you not on the detail.  She has Heero identifying as Russian as well as Japanese, and she has the language usage to support this.  She has more tiny but oh-so-important detail in this fic than I've ever seen anywhere.  And that makes all the difference in the world.  

Be forewarned - there is a LOT of dark content in this story.  Mental illness abounds, and dark subject matter springs up constantly.  She's also delving into the "Newtype" idea of the other Gundam universes, which I think is too cool. 

Note - anyone bothered by Duo's...ah...rampant bedjumping, just stick in there, it does get better.

"Three Kisses" - added 06-feb-2002

Duo reflects on his relationships (sexual and otherwise) with Quatre and Trowa, and ponders how things might have turned out, had he made different choices.

While this is somewhat of a love triangle fic, it's very well done.  What I particularly liked about it was the fact that, in the end, when the final pairing was revealed, everyone involved stayed friends.  There was no screaming and wailing, no name calling - it was all handled very maturely and responsibly.

There are brief mentions of Wufei and Heero, both of whom are portrayed as sympathetic and understanding, which I also liked.

Keelywolfe

This takes place after EW.  After Relena's normal bodyguard is called away suddenly, Duo is called in as a replacement.

Relena is overworked and Duo is fidgety.  After wondering whether she can get away with murdering Duo, some conversation occurs between the two that reveal some of Duo's inner feelings.  They are all friends in here, and Relena uses that to her advantage to do some maneuvering of Duo's side of the conversation.  There are some elements of the story I can't reveal as it would give away the ending, but I can say this is a sweet story with a nice ending.  I always enjoy fics that have Relena as a friend to the pilots and not some psycho hose beast slavering for "her" Heero, and in here she's a very good friend to them.
