"Over
Coffee" - added 08-nov-2002
This is a 3x4 with a twist - how often
in life do you meet your true love on the first date? Not
often, that's for sure. You have to wade through a bunch
of people before you find true love. Quatre's a rich bachelor
looking for love - and he's not having much luck. After
a string of less than successful dates, he finally meets "the
one", only to have tall dark and handsome disappear on
him. He continues to date, however, and hope that Mr. Mysterious
will make another appearance.
The dates are quite amusing for the most
part. As he goes to each one, Quatre's getting love advice
from the waiter at his favorite cafe, who just happens
to be Duo. There's a story in the background here about
a Heero/Relena/Duo love triangle as well.
Most of the dates Quatre has are with
people from the Gundam series, so don't be worried about
there being too many OOCs. There are a few, but not many.
This is different, but very well written.
There's some groping, but no real sex, so I don't think
some of the odder pairings should really squick anyone.

"If
It Takes All Summer" - added 17-april-2004
After the war, Heero moves in with Duo at Duo’s
scrap yard. They’re friends and nothing more, but
as the years progress and their lives change and grow,
so does their relationship. Neither are in any hurry to
advance that relationship, though Duo does finally decide
to set a goal for himself - kiss Heero by the end of summer.
Unfortunately, this isn’t quite as easy as Duo hopes,
as fate and/or Heero confound him at every turn.
This is very nicely done, the guys are very in character,
and I really love how adult the whole thing is. While a
goal of kissing someone sounds like something a starry-eyed
teenager would do, Duo’s very much an adult here,
as is Heero, and there’s no “Duo’s an
oversexed joker waiting to jump Heero at every corner” characterization.
I also enjoyed the little bits and bobs Granate made mention
of regarding Heero’s habits. Nice to see the ‘Perfect
Soldier’ isn’t so perfect after all. I agree
with Duo completely. *grin*
